A small group of professors and students from Ben Gurion University protested outside the Council for Higher Education on Wednesday. Protesters opposed to the council’s decision to suspend BGU’s political science department carried signs saying, “No to the Thought Police” and “Let us Learn in Peace.”
Council member Professor Or-Tzion Bar-Tana told Arutz Sheva that he hopes the council will not give in to pressure. BGU’s political science department did not make necessary changes as it claims it did, he said. “The closure was justified,” he stated, adding that the council “must be free to debate without outside pressure.”
