At a Labor Party conference held in Tel Aviv, the party approved by a clear majority the proposal of party chairman, MK Shelly Yacimovich, to change the allignment of seats for the 19th Knesset list.

According to the new policies a number of different sectors will become smaller and they agreed to change certain placements on the list. They also agreed to combine Druze and Arab sectors into one representative seat.

Yachimovich said in her speech that, "For years we have become accustomed to this faulty system. People are parachuted into the Knesset and sometimes they steal their mandate and run away."

The party leader devoted much of her speech to emphasizing that the Labor Party is the only party that poses a serious threat to the Likud government and to the rule of Prime Minister Netanyahu.
