Ex-Ambassador Sentenced in Lieberman Leak Case

Former Israeli Ambassador to Belarus Zev Ben-Aryeh was sentenced to four months of community service on Sunday. Ben-Aryeh was convicted in a plea bargain deal of having passed classified information to Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

The incident in question took place in 2008, when Lieberman was serving as a Member of Knesset. The information involved a request from authorities in Israel for assistance from Belarus in an investigation involving Lieberman.
