The New York Times has endorsed United States President Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race. The paper’s editorial board said it had chosen Obama due to policies that have boosted economic recovery, health care reforms, and his move to end the war in Iraq.
“We enthusiastically endorse President Barack Obama for a second term, and express the hope that his victory will be accompanied by a new Congress willing to work for policies that Americans need," the paper stated on its website.
The Times backed Obama in 2008 as well.
