Iran and Egypt Increasing Trade Relations

An Egyptian business delegation visited Iran last week, according to FARS news agency.

The purpose of which was to foster trade relations between the two countries, according to the Egyptian Daily News.

The chairman of Iran’s Union of Exporters and Importers of Agricultural Products, Seyed Reza Nourani, told FARS news agency “Iran has offered to export apples and kiwi [fruit], and to buy citrus from Egypt if needed.”

Most of the trade agreements concern agricultural products.

President Mohamed Morsi said during his visit to Iran, “there’s no problem between Iran and Egypt.” according to FARS.

Erstwhile Iranian chargée d’affaires Mahmoud Farrag said the increasing relations between the two states had followed increased Egyptian diplomatic representation in Tehran.

“We already orchestrated many deals with Iran, including the establishment of sugar factories and exporting media materials to the Iranian Radio and Television Union,” he said, according to the Egypt Daily News.
