Naftali Bennet, the front-running candidate for the Jewish Home party, is to thank for a massive surge of interest in the party among young voters, candidate Avi Wortzman said Saturday. Wortzman, currently the Deputy Mayor of Be’er Sheva, is running for a spot on the party’s Knesset list.
“I’ve been a member of the Mafdal central committee for 20 years,” he told participants in community rally on Saturday night. “There were always a few young people, the young people were like a nature preserve… And suddenly there’s an amazing awakening thanks to Naftali Bennet.”
More than half of the Jewish Home members are now young adults, he added.
