Most towns under Palestinian Authority rule chose not to hold elections this year, the Associated Press reports. Municipal elections were held in 93 Arab cities and towns in Judea and Samaria on Saturday.

In another 179 towns, clan leaders reached power-sharing deals and no elections were held. An additional 82 towns did not put forth any candidates.
