A Minneapolis man was convicted on Thursday of helping to recruit young men and sending them to Somalia to join the Al-Shabab terrorist group, which is close to Al-Qaeda.

The man, 46-year-old Mahamud Said Omar, faces life imprisonment over the charges. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
