Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has been invited to a meeting in Cairo on Thursday to discuss Egypt-PA ties, Maan news reports. Fayyad thanked envoys for the invitation and said he plans to attend.
Earlier in the month Egyptian officials met with senior leaders from both the Ramallah-based PA led by Fatah and the breakaway PA led by Hamas in Gaza. The meeting with Hamas hinted at a change in policy toward the terrorist group, which is linked to Egypt’s current ruling party, the Muslim Brotherhood.
