National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor on Monday called Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's comments about Israel "disgusting, offensive, and outrageous." In several interviews he gave to American media during his visit to New York, Ahmadinejad threatened Israel.

Vietor added that the comments “underscore again why America's commitment to the security of Israel must be unshakable, and why the world must hold Iran accountable for its utter failure to meet its obligations.”
