Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, finished the trading week and the Jewish trading year, Thursday, with modest to moderate gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,001.93, up two tenths of a percent, while the TA 100 rose .19 percent to 1011.69, despite a .07-percent drop by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 finished the day at 362.20, up .65 percent.
The financial institutions led the way, rising 1.34 percent to 809.12. The insurance index closed at 809.31, up 1.29 percent and the bank issues rose 1.25 percent to 897.02. Next came the oil and gas stocks, which finished the day at 985.32, up 1.02 percent. Most of the technology index advanced .79 percent to 359.35, while the biomed issues closed at 727.42, up .37 percent. The real estate stocks advanced .72 percent to 245.81, while the communications and media index declined 1.26 to 445.76.
