1,000 children learning in schools run by the Shuvu network gathered in Bnei Brak Tuesday for an assembly in honor of Rabbi Zev Wolfson, who passed away 30 days earlier. Rabbi Wolfson, of New York, was known for his lobbying on Israel’s behalf and his support of the Shuvu network, which teaches primarily children from the former Soviet Union.

The children in Shuvu schools have been learning from the book Shmirat Halashon in Rabbi Wolfson’s memory. The book teaches the prohibitions on slander and gossip, and the need for careful, kind speech.
