A report Monday eventing said that a top Al Qaeda terrorist had been killed in Yemen. Sa'id al-Shahiri, the second in command of Al Qaeda in Yemen, was killed by government forces, Yemen government officials said.

The officials said that al-Shahiri had been released five years ago from the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay. He was released when President Barack H. Obama ordered the closure of the facility.
