The trial of Saif al-Islam Qaddafi, son of former Libyan ruler Muammar Qaddafi, was postponed by five months on Sunday, so that it can include relevant evidence from the interrogation of the former head of Libya’s Secret Service, Abdullah al-Senussi, who was arrested last week.
The office of Libya’s prosecutor said in a statement, “We were ready to begin the trial this month, but after we managed to apprehend al-Sennusi and bring him back to Libya, we will have new information and the trial will be postponed for at least five months.”
