Most of the indices on Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed out the trading week, Thursday, with modest to sharp losses. The TA Composite Index finished the day at 980.32, down .12 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a closing of 989.36 for the TA 100, including a tenth of a percent decline to 1,112.57 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were the oil and natural-gas stocks, which fell 2.93 percent to 906.76, followed by the biomed index, which closed at 714.31, down 1.06 percent, while the rest of the technology issues declined four tenths of a percent to 358.83. The bank stocks finished the day at 828.45, down .18 percent, as the financial institutions slipped .08 percent to 746.67, tempered by a .07 percent advance to 726.68 by the insurance index. The communications and media issues finished the day at 439.86, down .06 percent, and the real-estate issues rose .87 percent to 234.36.
