The crime lord whose arrest was reported Sunday has been identified as Yousef Hariri in a Maariv/nrg report. Hariri is considered the head of one of Israel’s largest crime families.
The incident that led to his arrest was the attempted murder of a car dealer who Hariri believed had not greeted him properly. Hariri and two others were unable to murder the man because he was not in his business when they returned, but the three opened fire anyway, doing massive damage to the car dealership.
He fled to Palestinian Authority-controlled territory in Judea and Samaria after the shooting, but returned Sunday and turned himself in to police.
