The government funding for many yeshivas has been held up for the month of September due to complications over the expiration of the Tal Law. Education Ministry officials explained that, following the law’s expiration, the yeshivas no longer meet the criteria for government support.

Officials said the matter would be dealt with and the budgets transferred by the middle of next week.
