The gainers edged the losers at the start of trading, Tuesday, at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, About a quarter of an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 988.12, up .01 percent, while the same percentage gain meant a posting of 998.05 for the TA 100, including a gain of .11 percent to 1,120.87 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The bank stocks led the gainers, rising three tenths of a percent to 847.06, but a 2.01 percent drop to 736.77 by the insurance index drove the financial institutions down three tenths of a percent to 760.58. Most of the technology stocks rose an average of .09 percent to 358.3l, while the biomed index stood at 710.82, up .08 percent. The real estate issues declined .43 percent to 237.05, while the communications and media stocks stood at 436.63, down .67 percent. The oil and natural gas stocks fell 1.05 percent to 972.32.
