At an event with injured American and Israeli soldiers Monday night, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that the more the West pressed Iran, the less likely it was that Israel would feel it has no choice but to attack. In what observers said was a softening of Netanyahu's recent comments on Iran, the Prime Minister said that “setting a red line” will discourage Iran from build nuclear weapons. “Right now this is Israel's biggest challenge and threat,” Netanyahu said.
“The stronger and more definitive the red line is, the less likely a confrontation” against Iran, the Prime Minister said.
