Twelve people were killed Tuesday when a funeral procession in southeast Damascus was attacked using a car bomb, Syrian media outlets report. The bomb left another 48 people wounded.

State-run media termed the attackers “terrorists.” Rebel forces suggested that the government could have carried out the attack to discredit the opposition and to win over the Christian minority.
