Rabbi Shlomo Amar, the Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel, expressed his appreciation, Sunday, for the Chief Rabbinate of the Israel Defense Forces, and called for continuation of the tight cooperation between the various entities at the IDF's headquarters. Speaking during a visit at the Kirya base in Tel Aviv, Rabbi Amar said, "It's gives much strength and encouragement to see the best of the forces who work together here. Not every chief military rabbi merits a group of talented lovers of G-d like this around him, the people and the army, which can lift this heavy load."
Wishing that G-d will be pleased with the results of their labors, Rabbi Amar concluded, "Your actions affect all of Israel's soldiers, who are the citizens of tomorrow. There are many people whose familiarity with Judaism begins in the army, and one who leaves the army with a love of Israel and the Torah will continue to go this way in the future."
