Speaking Sunday, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz discounted media reports that unemployment in Israel was set to rise. “I am not aware of any new unemployment statistics,” Steinitz said. “We do not look at the month to month numbers, but at the general trend. In the past three years Israel has created over 330,000 new jobs, the top country in the western world in per capita job creation.
“We will do everything to create more jobs and promote high growth, and continue leading the West in job creation,” Steinitz said.
