Report: Yeshiva Students to Guard Bnei Brak Schools

Adult yeshiva students without army experience or weapons will guard educational institutions in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bnei Brak at the beginning of the school year, due to a shortage of guards, according to a Friday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. As part of the Israel Police experiment, the guards will be equipped with communications devices for summoning police vehicles.

The police say it's a temporary plan to allow schools to function in spite of the difficulty in recruiting guards. The Bnei Brak municipality says efforts are continuing to provide guards at all the educational institutions.
