MK Haim Amsalem (Am Shalem) fiercely criticized the Shas party on Thursday, after an article in its journal accused Zionists and secular Israelis of being responsible for the Iranian nuclear threat.
“If anyone needed further proof that the Shas party is a radical and anti-Zionist party, he got it today in the most blatant and obvious manner, with that poisonous and anti-Zionist article,” said Amsalem, a former Shas MK who broke away from the party.
“This is precisely the ideology of the Jewish vermin who embrace Ahmadinejad. I recommend that the Shas party join the Iranian parliament, which is where it belongs. The Sephardi public is essentially a national Zionist public and was brought up that way by its rabbis and leaders. Now it finds itself being betrayed once again by a party that claims to represent it.”
