Author Esther Fine, mother of former Minister Effi Eitam has passed on this week at the age of 94.

Fine was born in Latvia in 1918, and served as a Red Army nurse during WWII.

She immigrated to Israel in 1948, and resided in Kibbutz Ein Gev. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in literature from Bar Ilan University. She authored ‘As Times Change’, ‘In the Ways of the Storm’, and Children’s Literature Prize winner ‘Hadas’.

She is survived by four sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
