Following the expiration of the Tal Law, which regulated the enlistment of hareidi-religious Israelis in the army, a number of secular organizations handed a petition to the Supreme Court on Tuesday, demanding to stop the transfer of budgets for yeshiva students.
The organizations called on the Court to order the government, the Finance Minister, Education Minister and the Attorney General to immediately cancel the budgets granted to some 54,000 yeshiva and kollel students.
