Italian airline Windjet has cancelled nearly all of its flights, leaving hundreds of passengers, among them about 200 Israelis, stranded. Italian aviation officials were trying to arrange for alternative flights for those who will be unable to take Windjet home.

Aviation officials said that it was likely that the company would declare bankruptcy in the coming days. The officials promised to ensure that all passengers whose flights were canceled will be rebooked on alternative airlines.
