An Egyptian Army official said over the weekend that there  was no deadline for Egyptian troops to wrap up their campaign against terrorists in Sinai. Speaking to reporters, the official said that the operation could continue for months, and would only end “when Egyptian sovereignty has been restored to Sinai.”

An Egyptian source, quoted by French news agencies, said that Israel had submitted to Egypt the names of nine terrorists who participated in the terror attack on Egyptian troops and a border crossing into Israel. Egypt has requested information on three of them from Hamas, the source said. The three are said to be members of the Army of Islam, which operates in Gaza.
