Comptroller Won't Attend Carmel Fire Hearing

State Comptroller Yoseph Shapira informed Chairman Uri Ariel, Tuesday, that he would not be attending the commitee's Tuesday afternoon meeting about former state comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss's report on the Carmel Ridge Fire of 2010, which killed 44 people and destroyed thousands of dunams of forest and other property.

The meeting is scheduled for the Prime Minister's Office to accomodate Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu because of his foot injury. Judge Shapira said it was improper to hold the meeting on the home turf of the person who is a subject of the report.
