Modest rises in prices were recorded in mixed trading at the start of business, Tuesday at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 983.60, up .31 percent, while the TA 100 advanced .32 percent to 991.00, including a quarter of a percent rise to 1,100.32 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the insurance stocks at 747.08, up .72 percent, as the financial institutions slipped .14 percent to 729.64, due, in part to a .11 percent drop to 798.53 by the bank index. The biomed issues advanced .81 percent to 748.60, while the rest of the technology stocks stood at 358.86, up .57 percent. The communications and media index declined .22 percent to 398.21, while the oil and natural gas issues stood at 1,035.62, down .34 percent, and the real estate stocks fell .39 percent to 249.82.
