Knesset to Vote on Economic Measures Monday

The Knesset is scheduled to vote, Monday, on a series of tax hikes and budget cuts approved by the cabinet last week. After the cancellation of cuts to the Ministries of Defense, Housing, Interior and Industry, Commerce and Labor, the package was promised the support of ministers from the Atzma'ut, Shas and Yisrael Beytenu parties, and Knesset approval is expected to take a few hours.

The vote on the first reading is scheduled for noon. After that the Knesset Finance Committee will prepare the bill for its second and third readings and return it to the plenum for approval.
