Ethiopian Immigrants Attack Absorption Staff

Southern District Manager Opher Bar'am of the Absorption Ministry said, Sunday, that he was going to file a police complaint, after a demonstration by about 200 immigrants living in the absorption center in Mevasseret Zion, west of Jerusalem, turned violent. The demonstrators allegedly attacked the staff of the center physically and verbally in an attempt to prevent them from entering the facility.

Manager David Molla of the absorption center said he also plans to file a complaint. The center is home to about 1,200 immigrants from Ethiopia who have arrived in Israel in recent years.
