MK: Panetta’s Visit a Nightmare for Drivers

MK Zevulun Orlev (Jewish Home) has expressed upset over the traffic jams resulting from United States Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s visit. “With all due respect to the importance of American Defense Secretary Panetta’s visit… I am unwilling to accept, in any way, the widespread shutdown of highways that has caused heavy damage to citizens,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

“I had the rough experience of the shutdown of Highway 1 from the airport to Jerusalem with no advance notice,” Orlev continued.  “Why could he not have been flown in a helicopter, saving thousands of drivers and passengers frustration and financial loss?” Other road shutdowns could have been avoided if Defense Minister Ehud Barak had traveled from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv to meet Panetta instead of the reverse, he added.
