Three Eritreans living in Tel Aviv were stabbed by an unknown assailant on Tuesday. The incident happened near a location selling DVDs and movies. Officials do not know whether the assailant was attacked first, or whether the stabbing was initiated by some sort of monetary argument. The incident could also have been a vigilante attack against the influx of Eritreans into South Tel Aviv, taking over areas such as Levinsky Park and other places near the Central Bus Station.
Police are investigating. Over the past several years, large numbers of Eritreans have been jumping the border into Israel in search of jobs.
