Report: Hanegbi Says Mofaz Pullout Not Productive

Former Kadima Knesset member Tzachi Hanegbi has called on Kadima party activists who feel the party does not reflect their views to follow him to the Likud party, according to a Tuesday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. Hanegbi has scheduled a meeting with Kadim members for Thursday.

In a letter to the activists, Hanegbi wrote that the actions of Kadima Chairman Shaul Mofaz have caused the deterioration of the party to an unprecedented low. He said Mofaz's decision to pull Kadima out of the government was contrary to Israel's interest to preserve unity and stability in what he called a fateful year for the state's security.
