Government No-Show at Pollard Hearing

Cabinet Secretary Tzvi Hauser and Ron Dermer, a senior advisor to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, were noticeable by their absence, Tuesday morning, as the Security, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Subcommittee of the Knesset's State Control Committee held a hearing on a request for the State Comptroller to issue a legal opinion on the government's efforts to secure the release of Jonathan Pollard, who is serving a life sentence in the United States for passing classified information to Israel.

Control Committee Chairman Uri Ariel said the government representatives were avoiding the meeting and he would consider issuing an order for them to appear.
