A deputy commander of a paratroop battalion who set off a tear-gas grenade at a going away party will not be given a course commander's assignment at the brigade's training base, according to a Monday report by the Yisrael Hayom daily. The major is considered an outstanding soldier and is expected to receive a special staff assignment in the Israel Defense Forces.
