MK Zuaretz: Shacham Case Exposes Flawed Police Norms

Member of Knesset Orit Zuaretz, who serves on the Knesset Committee for Advancing the Status of Women, responded, Thursday evening, to allegations of sexual misconduct againt Jerusalem Police Chief Niso Shacham by saying, "Reporting of the allegations brings out a harsh picture of unacceptable labor standards, both from the point of view of exploiting a position of authority and from the point of view of silencing the incident and covering it up among friends at the top in the police department."

She continued, "I call on the minister of public safety and the police chief to put their house in order and act to clean the organization of these unacceptable norms to uproot the culture of silence and whitewashing."
