MK Matalon: Enlistment Still On the Agenda

“Kadima’s departure from the government does not mean the end of the struggle for equal share in the burden,” MK Moshe Matalon of Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel Our Home) declared Tuesday evening. Kadima decided to leave the coalition Tuesday, citing differences with Likud regarding the subject of enlisting hareidi Jews to the IDF.

“If the subject is so important to them, I hope to see them supporting our proposal – enlistment for all – which will come up for a vote tomorrow,” Matalon said. Yisrael Beiteinu has called to make the draft universal, including both hareidi men and Arab citizens of Israel.
