Talks End Poorly for Mandatory Army Service

Member of Knesset Yohanan Plesner of the Kadima Party and Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Yaalon of the Likud Party reached a dead end in talks on Wednesday regarding mandatory army service. From 2002 until today, the Tal Law offered draft deferments to full time yeshiva students.Following the annulment of the law, Plesner led a committee to conscript all previously exempted sectors of Israeli society including all yeshiva students, Arabs, teen celebrities and anyone who otherwise avoided army service or national service.
