MK Tiviaiev to Mofaz: Quit the Coalition

Member of Knesset Robert Tivaiev (Kadima) demanded, Sunday, that party chairman Shaul Mofaz immediately leave what Tiviaiev called the "failing" coalition over the crisis surrounding the government's committee on equal burden of service, headed by Kadima Knesset member Yochanan Plesner. The Yisrael Beytenu and Bayit Yehudi parties have pulled out of the committee over its failure to penalize the Arab sector to perform national civilian service, a subject for a meeting between Mofaz and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Describing his meeting with Mofaz, MK Tiviaiev said, "I said to Shaul Mofaz that there's another chance to correct the mistake of entering the government, even at the price of not me and other members not entering the next Knesset, but at least the idea of Kadima may continue to exist in the future. Now I'm more at peace with myself for not having supported Kadima entering the coalition."
