High Court OKs November Uprooting of Ulpana Buildings

A three-judge panel of the Supreme Court, headed by President Asher Grunis, accepted, Sunday, the request of the state to delay completion of the dismembering and removal of five disputed buildings in the Ulpana (religious girls' high school) neighborhood in the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Beit El until November 15th. The decision was rendered in the case of the Arab whose claim on the property was reflected in last week's court-ordered removal of 33 families from the buildings. The court rejected a demand by the Arab and the Yesh Din organization, which represented him, to impose personal charges on Defense Minister Ehud Barak to ensure the removal of the buildings on time, after the state submitted a timetable for the operation.
