A report in Egypt Sunday morning said that a missile was fired in an area of central Sinai, 50 kilometers south of El-Arish. No one was injured in the explosion, the report in Egyptian media said, although it created a large pit.

Earlier, reports said that an Egyptian soldier was killed and four others injured when a patrol jeep they were riding in was attacked in Sinai. Sources said that the jeep was attacked with heavy fire, forcing the driver to veer off the road. The vehicle turned over, killing the driver and injuring four passengers.
