Eighty two people were killed in violence in Syria Saturday. 30 of the dead were killed when a mortar shell exploded at a funeral outside Damascus. The deaths were reported by human rights organizations in touch with rebel forces inside Syria.
Earlier Saturday, a plan was approved by major powers regarding a change of government in Syria. Under the plan, first proposed by UN Secretary General Koffee Annan, members of Assad's current administration, as well as of his family, could remain in power under a new administration. It would be up to the Syrian people if the wanted Assad himself to remain in power.
