Students in yeshivas and ulpana high schools for girls on Monday launched a petition against the Ministry of Education, against what they said was unfairness in the matriculation exam in Tanach.
The students claimed that the exam had more questions than it was possible to answer in the allotted time frame. In the petition the students said that the exam was difficult and tricky because it included a total of 13 questions that needed to be answered, but each question was divided into sections and each section was divided to further subsections.
The students also said that many of the subsections required comparisons between different verses or chapters, a fact which required them to spend much of their time looking for these chapters and verses in the Tanach, resulting in their losing valuable time to think and formulate answers.
