History: Woman on Saudi Arabian Olympic Team

A lone woman who meets the International Olympic Committee's standards for competing in London, next month, will probably make history as the first female member of the Saudi Arabian. That was the picture after the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee would examine the participation of women, rather than have the men be disqualified because of gender discrimination.

Therer is almost no precedent for women's participation in a sporting event, as there are still many religious opponents in the kingdom to women athletes competing in public. The Saudi Olympic Committee announced that there is still hope for the introduction of various women's sports competitions.
