Chief of Staff Benny Gantz of the Israel Defense Forces toured, Tuesday morning, the area of Monday's fatal terror attack on Israel's border with Egypt. As work continued to prevent infiltrations of the border, he said that work was going well. Gantz continued, "Our operationalproblemisonetype of problem. A more significantproblemiswhathappensin theSinai, the staging areas,aterror base which is continually evolving.We expectthe Egyptiansto exercisetheirsovereignty."

A number of workers under contract to the defense ministry told interviewers, Monday, following the attack, that they would leave the job, explaining they were not willing to risk their lives for work.
