Rabbis Criticize Threat to Beit El Neighborhood

Rabbi Dov Lior of the Judean Jewish communities of Hevron and Kiryat Arba' visited the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Beit El this week to give strength to residents of the Ulpana neighborhood, ahead of uprooting ordered by the Supreme Court. He said the idea was "a lie and evil from beginning to end," stressing, "It's not Jewish thinking. The area here belongs to the people of Israel."

Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service during a gathering in Jerusalem, Rabbi Chaim Druckman said, "Destroying the homes is destruction for destruction's sake, which is not moral. Nobody will benefit from destruction. We have still have not reached D-Day and I hope things will work out. The state understand this and I hope there will be a proper solution. We musn't reach a situation of clashes."
