The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange returned from the Shavuot break, Monday morning, opening up in the plus column in mixed trading. About a quarter of an hour into trading, the TA Composite index stood at 966.26, up .46 percent, while the TA 100 index rose half a percent to 975.75, including a .84 percent advance to 1,059.71 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the communications and media stocks, which jumped 3.51 percent to 458.70, followed by the bank index, which stood at 894.63, up 1.07 percent, as the financial institutions rose .55 percent to 839.20, despite a .61 percent decline to 954.12 by the insurance issues. The oil and gas stocks stood at 1,165.02, up .57 percent, and the real estate index rose .36 percent to 275.86. The biomed issues stood at 731.41, up .19 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks declined .24 percent to 321.68.
