Ido Nechushtan Retires as Air Force Chief

With the words, "The Heavens are Yours, the earth too; the world and all it holds - You established them," (Psalms 89:12), General Ido Nechushtan finished 37 years of active duty in the Israel Air Force, the last four as its commander, Monday morning. He is succeeded by General Amir Eshel.

During his term as commander, Israel established its air defense system and installed three batteries of the Iron Dome anti-missile system. Israel's firefighting squadron also came into being.
